Easy Peasy Hummus

Gluten Free | Vegan

3 reasons why I love this hummus recipe:

1. Chickpeas are a great plant-based protein, making it an excellent option for people on a vegetarian or vegan diet. They are also a prebiotic which helps feed the good bacteria in your gut.

2. The inclusion of tahini makes it nice and creamy. Tahini is also a great source of calcium. No not all calcium needs to come from dairy!

3.The dip can be eaten with 1 cup of chopped carrots or a handful of my flaxseed crackers as an afternoon snack or as a big dollop on your salad, burger patty or omelette.


400g chickpeas (1 tin, drained)

2 tablespoons tahini

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

½ lemon, juiced

Pinch salt and pepper


Drain the liquid from the chickpea tin.

Place all ingredients into the blender.

Blend until a smooth creamy texture is reached.

Store in the fridge for up to a week.
